How it started
A few years into shipping subscription apps on iOS, we started noticing a quiet line item in our payouts. Refunds. Not loud ones. The silent kind, processed in the background, that no one on the team had any context for.
When we dug in, we found Apple sends a CONSUMPTION_REQUEST notification for many of these. You get a short window to respond with proof of usage. We were missing the window almost every time.
Why we built it
Existing tools treated refund response as an afterthought. Everything was built around subscription metrics first. We wanted one tool that did one thing well: collect consumption data and submit it to Apple in time.
